Stay Lean and Fit for Duty Through the Summer with These Tips
I have until July 12 2024.. this was helpful thank you!
Super helpful. Thanks.
The Dummy and the stair master were the hardest for me. I'm 5'0 tall and weigh 125lbs. the dummy weighs 175lbs
The subtle roasts are hilarious
10 years old
I have actually restored 😢stength and mobility in my left shoulder by doing this 2x per week for 4 weeks, this has been a 6 month injury
I have my CPAT in March 14 2023 and have been doing all the exercises that are similar with a 80lbs vest for time. This video is helpful
You should be ready to go! Just make sure to focus on getting good nutrition, hydration, and rest the days before. You got this!
Hello, I want to improve my fitness because I will be a firefighter. What are the training tips for me as a firefighter? How many weights do you use in your training and what are the standards approved by you? Thank you.
Great questions. One of the things I recommend is to start with the R50 Program with FRF. This free program will give you insight on how to train functionally for the job. www.R50Challenge.com
Stipe miocic?
?
you look like him and he's a UFC fighter/Fireman from Poland I believe@@getfrf
I'm number 20 in my town, and we'll into the 100s for placement in surrounding towns. Once you're on the list it seems like forever that you might get a chance
It does seem to take a long time. But, it is important to stay ready! Once you get the call you want to take advantage. Let me know how I can help.
If you need to prepare to pass the Cpat, you're gonna have a really hard time surviving academy.
The Cpat should be comedically easy if you're in firefighter shape.
Thanks for this man. Im prepping for the academy and this is great. Im a rock climber, distance runner, and I do yoga, but when it comes to weight training im a novice. These videos are very much appreciated.
You can get a free program from me when you join the R50 Challenge. Free to join and can help you stay motivated: www.R50Challenge.com
A great way to never see your pension.
I guess I don't understand the statement. Z
@@getfrfThen you're not paying attention to what is happening to first responders who took it...
Went to the gym and still needed steps so I walked at home (walking pad was $150 but pacing works too). This challenge has really improved things already in the week I’ve done it
Awesome to hear, just keep grinding on those habits!
I like the ability to chose the areas I can focus on. This seems like a well thought out program and I'm looking forward to starting.
Keep me posted and thanks for supporting the R50. Please forward to get more people involved. You got this!
I’m very guilty of being one of the ones that “lost my way”. Day 2 of the 50 day resilience challenge for me. It’s awesome how you set it up for us! I’m super excited to fill my chart out (I ordered stickers lol) and keep track of things.
Awesome 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Is that a Honolulu Fire Department patch over your right shoulder? Niiiiiiiiice…
Yes it is!
Thank you for ur service God is for u
Thank you too
After hearing about this at the beavercreek thing and getting to meet you I’m excited!
Great idea Aaron. Once again you are thinking of things that will benefit all first responders. I look forward to participating.
Thank you
P r o m o s m 😏
If you fail the first time , is it true you have only 1 more try after to pass ?
You can take it again but will have to pay and register again
I appreciate the info sir keep up the good work 💪🏾😎
Thank you for your support. Please let me know if you have questions and/or ideas.
Awesome video! This list was spot on
If u know u know
Music is too loud.
Sorry, one of my first videos.. I'm gonna improve... Stay tuned
I’ve really fallen off the band wagon and given up for awhile. Thank you for posting this!
Glad it helped get ya going... Here is a Free 28-day Catalyst program if your looking for a functional and structured program: firerescuefitness.com/28-day-catalyst-program/
@@getfrf I have bought a couple of your programs in the past, but I will start with that one! I downloaded your app.
@@Sammavenarnold Awesome brother. Let me know if you have questions, you can message me anytime in the app also... Time to #GETFRF
Just had an interview for a BLS emergency driver. This helped me with planning on how to work out for the next step. Thank you!
Awesome.. glad it helped. Let me know how I can continue to help. Congrats
@@getfrf Thank you! I've heard about HIIT exercises.Do you recommend doing them?? Can you recommend some of them if you do??
@@eryuu4016 Here is a good option: ruclips.net/video/mhGI4OI8jBs/видео.html
@@getfrf Thank you!
i have my test coming up in june in philadelphia so i was just wondering what i should prepare for and be looking forward to
Did you pass?
I got my CPAT on March The 3rd and I am REALLY NERVOUS
Work your plan Drew. Make sure to get some workouts with a weighted vest to get adjusted to the added weight of the test. You can reach out to me at firerescuefitness.com/ contact with any questions. You got this!
How’d it go?
Excellet instructional vid.
Glad it was helpful!
Consistency, diet. Trust the process. Leave an extra bite left on your plate. Hydrate. On duty I take my fitness time as a way to get away. The mobility videos are here are great if anyone reads this
Good stuff!
This is also a great option if you have elbow pain from the usual version of the lateral raise
I have wrist pain and doing them like this helps as well.
thanks for the tips man🙏🙏
Any time
I just got hired as a wildland firefighter still working on becoming a paramedic to become a city firefighter , I box 6-7 days a week but I want to impress my team as soon as I get there what can I be studying and doing to be THE BEST
Hey, this channel is awesome. Would love to see more content of you working with physical therapists on the demand of the job as a firefighter. And think it is so cool your implementation of the Keiser functional machine.
Hi Mate love your work! I'm an Aviation FF in Australia and wandered if you could suggest the best exercises to help combat fatigue from jet reaction when holding on to a 64mm charged hose, Arms Core Legs and Grip...we train with one person on the branch aiming at an engine fire for long periods of time and fatigue can sometimes make it very challenging. Thanks!
Does your grip fatigue first or your legs?
@@aaronzamzow4157 grip and forearms ...due to pistol grip, once the hose is pulled back into the body it is then hard to operate the shut off valve. ideally, we would have a backup person with us but just don't have the manning for that
Hi! Always appreciate Aaron's workouts because he is so careful to explain how to safely (for me) do all the exercises. He helps keep me fit.
Glad you like them! Thank you for the support. Please reach out with any ways to improve.
You should poste more examples of full body functional workouts. I think it would be very helpful. My firehouse does not have a gym and the commercial gym I go to don't have that many funcional equipments. It's a typical "bro gym". Thank You.
I am on it! Stay tuned. I appreciate the suggestion and will get some stuff posted for you.
@@getfrf Thank you. Really appreciate the help.
Ever since I started just training to be a fireman, I’ve tried to incorporate most of these functional movements into my workouts. This was perfect, especially to have that list of which movements are important to practice, thank you for this! 💪🏽
Thanks for the feedback! I will be posting another video with some additional examples.. Thanks for the support

Thanks brother, this is really helpful. I'm currently a volunteer and I'm working toward going career and pursuing chaplaincy. Nutrition and exercise are my weakest points and I'm looking to change that. Thank you so much for the video!
Glad it was helpful! Let me know what I can do to help you along your journey.
Thank you for this video !
Thank you for your words. As I am in my mid 30s I am seeing how my training has drastically changed then in my 20s.
More mobility and core as you age. Let me know what else I can do to help...
Is it true that doing thumbs up lateral raises with a forward lean target the side delts ?
Yes, you will get more medial deltoid with a slight lean forward. The thumbs up is a good option if you have any shoulder impingements or pain.
@@getfrf Ok thanks ! This said, what is roughly the best forward lean's angle in order to hit the side delt with thumbs up laterals ?
@@pablito1904 That is a great question. I think you will have to play around with the angles a bit to see what "feels" like it works best. Personally, I try for just a 10 or 15-degree lean. Let me know if this helps. ZAM
@@getfrf Thank you for your great answer ! I've subscribed at your channel.
Great Video Sir!
I cant find you on audea - can you post audio versions of your videos there? would love to listen to them! thanks again for the awesome content!
Is there anything I can do at my local fire department at 14? Maybe I could volunteer and help clean the trucks or the house. I'm not much of a chef and I know they gotta stay fit, so that's off the list.
Hello, I would check with them and have your parents help you find some options. Some departments have junior programs. Let me know if this helps.
@@getfrf Thanks. I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the information and for being there for people during some of the worst points in their life.
I just failed my first test because I didn’t prepare. I got dizzy after the stairs 😂 but these are great exercises. I have three weeks til my next try so I’ll see what I can do between now and then.
Let me know if I can help. YOU DO NEED TO PREPARE! And, keep working out through your career.
